BLUES FALL PREY TO GYRPHONS

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball dropped a 73-56 decision to the Guelph Gryphons on Friday, February 19 in Guelph, Ont.

With the loss, the Blues drop to 6-10 and remain in third place in the OUA East, while Guelph improves to 10-7 and sits second in the Central division.

Third-year guard Rahshida Atkinson notched a team-high 18 points, going 7-for-12 from the floor, while adding five boards and two steals on the night.

Team co-captain and fourth-year forward Alanna Garner recorded 10 points, seven rebounds and two steals, while rookie forward Charlotte Collyer continued her stellar play with 10 points and two steals.

Fifth-year veteran Abena Addo had nine points, seven boards and two assists in the loss.

The Gryphons were led by Kate MacTavish's game-high 25 points and 10 rebounds, while Bridget Atkinson had 12 points, six boards and six assists in the win.

The Varsity Blues are back in action tomorrow night as they head to Thunder Bay to take on the Lakehead Thunderwolves. Tip off is set for 6 p.m.
