MEN’S SOCCER HOSTS RAVENS IN OUA QUARTER-FINAL SUNDAY

The No. 5 nationally ranked University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team hosts the Carleton Ravens in OUA quarter-final action this Sunday, October 30 at Varsity Stadium.

Kick off is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. The match is free and open to the public and will also be streamed live on OUA.tv.

The Blues earned a first round bye following a 1-0 victory over the Ravens in their regular season finale last Saturday. U of T finished with an impressive 12-2-2 record in second place in the OUA East division, with Carleton right behind in third (10-2-4).

Toronto went 1-0-1 versus Carleton in 2016, also playing to a 1-1 draw in Ottawa on Sept. 10.

The Ravens secured their quarter-final berth with a 4-1 victory over Trent in extra time on Wednesday night.

The winner of Sunday's contest will advance to the OUA Final Four next weekend (November 4-6) hosted by the highest remaining seed in the East.

Third-year goalkeeper Mark Rogal has led the Blues to an OUA-low eight goals against this season. He leads the OUA with 12 wins and 10 clean sheets in 2016.

Offensively, team co-captain Lukas MacNaughton has led the Blues with seven goals in the regular season, while both Antonio Ajhert and Harry Michelis have notched six this year.

For the Ravens, fifth-year midfielder Daud Dahir tops the squad with eight goals in 15 games played, while Mekonen Lovemore has notched six in 2016.

Second-year goalkeeper David Monk has played 14 games for the Ravens, notching eight wins and five shut outs.
