The University of Toronto Varsity Blues field hockey team capped off an 11-1 regular season with an 8-0 victory over the Waterloo Warriors on Sunday evening (Oct. 23) at Back Campus Fields.

The Blues used six first-half goals to seal the victory.

Fourth-year forwards Nicole Spring and Megan Joahnsen led the Blues with two goals each, while Alison Lee, Sarah Pendreigh, Taylor Fleck and Morgan Sleeth each scored once in the victory.

Prior to the game, Varsity Blues players Hilary Ziraldo, Elizabeth O'Hara, Karman Lochab and Sara Fredo, all cut their hair in a special pre-game Think Pink ceremony in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Following Sunday's match-ups, the Blues honoured graduating players Emma Wingrave, Lauren Sudac, Taylor Fleck, Cora Donnelly and Alison Lee.
The Varsity Blues head to the 2016 OUA championship as the No. 1 seed and will face the No. 8 McMaster Marauders in quarter-final action on Friday at 9 a.m. in London, Ont.
