MEN’S SOCCER SECURES 2ND STRAIGHT WIN

Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team capped off their Kingston road trip with a 3-1 victory over the RMC Paladins on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 6).

With the win, the Blues improve to 2-1-0 and move into second place in the OUA East division.

The Blues got on the board in the sixth minute, thanks to an RMC own goal. Toronto padded their lead in the 18th minute as rookie Yousef Helmy notched his first career goal as a Varsity Blue. U of T led 2-0 at the half.

Third-year forward Dakar Charles scored in his second straight match in the 54th minute to give the Blues a three-goal lead; however, RMC would spoil the shut out victory as Daniel Cruz found the back of the net in the 54th minute.

Blues goalkeeper Mark Rogal made two saves in the victory.

The Varsity Blues are back in action next Saturday, September 12 when they head to Sudbury, Ont., to take on the Laurentian Voyaguers. Game time is set for 2:15 p.m.
