Fifth-year right side hitter Jennifer Neilson led the Blues with 14 points, seven digs and two blocks, while CIS all-Canadian Charlotte Sider added 13 kills and 12 digs. Bojana Radan notched seven kills and five blocks, while Caleigh Cruickshank had eight kills.
Setter Madelyn Mandryk tallied 39 assists and 16 digs, with libero Denise Wooding adding 19 digs in the loss.
"I think we had moments but we just couldn't string them together consistently," said Varsity Blues head coach Kristine Drakich. "Montreal played well. It was a good season overall and in a few weeks we'll be able to reflect on that more. I think we brought our best in the last couple of weeks. Unfortunately for a couple of the crucial moments here, we weren't able to bring our best. It was a tremendous experience for those who are going to continue on and important for them to see how to manage these types of moments. I'm really proud of all of the players and the team overall."
