University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball standout Delaney Watson has been named a member of Volleyball Canada's Next Gen program as announced on June 15.
Volleyball Canada is hosting its Next Gen program at the Women's National Training Centre in Richmond, BC until mid-September. This program offers selected athletes a full-time high-performance training environment that focuses on technical and tactical development in line with the Senior A team. Athletes have access to dedicated coaching staff and an integrated support team to aid their development and growth as a high-performance athlete.
Watson, who is entering her fourth season with the Blues this fall, is a three-time OUA all-star. She is no stranger to the Next Gen program, appearing on the roster in 2024 en route to being named the best digger and best libero at the 2024 NORCECA U21 continental championship.
Last season, Watson was named to the senior national team, where she donned the Red and White in the Volleyball Nationals League (VNL).
Potential competition opportunities include the 2026 U23 NORCECA Pan Am Cup (athletes born 2004 or later), Aug 30-Sept 7, 2026 (Nicaragua), NORCECA Pan Am Cup Sept 9-19 (Mexico), and NORCECA Final Six Sept 19-28 (Mexico).
