University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer co-captain Lukas MacNaughton was named a CIS second team all-Canadian during the CIS men's soccer championship awards gala at the Toscana Banquet and Conference Centre on Wednesday evening.
A third-year defender from Brussels, MacNaughton also boasted his second consecutive OUA East all-star nod this season. The architecture major helped Toronto to an 11-3-2 regular season record, good for second place in the OUA East division, and to the 2015 OUA bronze medal victory that secured Toronto's spot on the national stage this week.
MacNaughton tied for second on the Blues with three regular season goals, while also leading U of T to a mere 11 goals against, the best in the East division this season.
The Varsity Blues kick off the 2015 CIS championship tomorrow, Thursday, November 12, when they take on the Canada West champion UBC Thunderbirds in quarter-final action. Game time is set for 4 p.m. at York Stadium.
