The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's rugby team fell 44-0 to the Laurier Golden Hawks in their 2014 season opener on Saturday, September 6 in Waterloo.
 
In what was many of the Blues first Varsity games, the team rose to the challenge. Toronto played hard and continued to hold the line, playing a great defensive game under pressure. 

Laurier's Chloe Graves led the way with three tries, while Jennifer Gilmour had four conversions and two penalty goals.
 
The Blues will look to bounce back as they host the Trent Excalibur in their home opener next Sunday, September 14 at Varsity Centre. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
