SOCCER HOSTS RAMS SUNDAY AT VARSITY CENTRE

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's and women's soccer teams take on the Ryerson Rams this Sunday, September 14 at Varsity Centre.

The women start the action at 12 p.m., with the men to follow at 2:15 p.m. Both games are free and open to the public.

Toronto's men and women are both 2-1-1 to start the season.

The Blues women sit in a four-way tie for second place in the OUA East and rank second with only two goals allowed. Second-year midfielder Claudia Piazza currently leads the team with two goals, while veteran goalkeeper Sara Petrucci has registered three shut outs in four starts so far this season.

Ryerson's women are 0-4 to start the year. Alex Rodkin leads the team with two goals. First-year goalkeeper Brittney Clendenan has assumed a starting role and holds a 2.33 goals against average.

The U of T men's squad sits in fourth place and has notched an OUA East-leading 12 goals in four games. That in large part is due to fifth-year striker Kilian Elkinson, who ranks second in the OUA and CIS with five goals.

The No. 5 Rams are 4-0-0 and have allowed only one goal against so far this season. Both Viktor Anastasoc and Marko Miketic lead Ryerson with three goals apiece.
