CIS/CCA WOMEN’S CURLING CHAMPIONSHIP DAY 4 RECAP

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's curling team ended the 2014 CIS/CCA championship on a high note, coming back to defeat the Carleton Ravens 7-6 on Saturday morning in Regina.

With the win, the Blues end their first-ever national bonspiel with a 3-4 record.

"That was an amazing come from behind win," said Varsity Blues head coach Kate Farnell. "That was a really strong team we just beat and it's really nice to end on a high note. I'm really proud of how we played all weekend."

Draw 7: Women vs Carleton

The Blues got off to a slow start, down 4-0 after three ends; however, skip Danielle Bourque righted the ship with three in the fourth and the Ravens added one more to take a 5-3 lead halfway through the game.

Toronto and Carleton exchanged singles in the sixth and seventh and the Blues added another in the eighth to bring it within one (6-5). After blanking the ninth end, U of T ended the championship on a high note, stealing two in the 10th end to earn the 7-6 victory.
