WOMEN'S CURLING SPLIT ROUND-ROBIN RESULTS AT OUA CHAMPIONSHIP

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's curling team finished their journey at the 2026 OUA Curling Championships this weekend with a 2-2 round-robin record, just missing out on advancing to the elimination matches.

The Blues competition roster consisted of Stella Armstrong, Amanda Smith, Janice Pang, and Nadia Jouaneh.

Opening their run at the Welland Curling Club on Friday morning, the Blues dominated in a 12-0 victory over the Carleton Ravens. This included an impressive five score first end, beginning their run at the provincial showcase with a bang. U of T would face a much tougher task in their second contest of the day, eventually conceding a 7-2 decision to the Trent Excalibur. A tight 2-1 match after the first three ends, it was back-to-back two point scores for the Excalibur in the fourth and fifth ends that put the opponents out of reach of the Blues.

Shifting to Day 2, Toronto was awarded a 1-0 forfeiture victory over the York Lions during the first round of matches. Needing a third win to potentially place themselves into an OUA quarter-final, U of T were unable to string together a run versus the McMaster Marauders in the final round-robin contest, falling 10-2 after six ends played.

The final 2-2 record would place the Blues just outside the Top 8, ending their run at the championships on Saturday.
