Draw 1: Women vs Thompson Rivers
Tied 1-1 after two ends, Thompson Rivers (Corryn Brown) went ahead 3-1 with two points in the third. Skip Danielle Bourque and the Blues battled back to take two in the fifth, and the two teams traded points in the sixth and seventh to remain deadlocked at 4-4.
The Wolfpack added a single in the eighth and stole one in the ninth, and the Blues were unable to respond, taking just one in the 10th to drop their first game by a single point.
"They played really well," said Varsity Blues head coach Kate Farnell. "It was a close game. They're getting used to the ice. We're looking forward to using what we learned this afternoon to bounce back tonight."
