The Unviersity of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team takes on the Ryerson Rams in OUA East quarter-final action on Wednesday night (Feb. 19) at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym.

After an 0-6 start to the season, the Varsity Blues drastically improved to finish the season with 12-10 record, in fourth place in the OUA East division. The Rams ended the season with four wins in their last five games, and an overall record of 9-13, in fifth place.
The two teams met twice in regular season action, with the Blues taking all four points. Toronto defeated Ryerson 74-56 on Nov. 30 at Mattamy Athletic Centre, before edging the Rams 58-54 at home on Jan. 5. U of T is also a perfect 3-0 in post-season meetings with Ryerson.
Fourth-year guard Jill Stratton of Etobicoke, Ont., led the Blues and ranked 12th in the OUA with 14.1 points per game, while fellow veterans Liane Bailey and Rachael Sider notched 8.9 and 9.1 points per game, respectively, in 22 regular season games.
Ryerson is led by third-year guard Keneca Pingue-Giles. The Winnipeg native ranked ninth in the OUA with 14.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, while teammate Mariah Nunes boasts 13.3 points per contest.
