The Varsity Blues men's and women's badminton teams competed in Kitchener, Ontario on Saturday (October 18) at the KW Oktoberfest tournament. The annual tournament is one of the most established adult tournaments in the Ontario and attracted about 50 players. Men's singles finished the weekend with a record of 11-9, while men's doubles went 9-6. The women's singles record was 5-5, and the doubles record was 4-1. Mixed doubles went 5-4 in the tournament.

First-year Dai Yan Luo won the A Division with a 21-14, 23-25, 21-17 victory against Yidan Xie of the Badminton Birds.

B Flight Winners:
Mitchell Seed paired with Jonathan Young to win the B flight over teammates Michael Wu and Eric Cai in a 21-19, 21-11 victory.

Women's Doubles Results

A Flight Winners:

First-years Shi Yi Lue (Vancouver, B.C.) and Yue Wang (China) teamed up to win this event with a close final match against Yuti Hu and Karen Wildgen from Trent University, winning 21-11, 19-21, 21-9.
