BLUES SCORE EARLY AND OFTEN OVER WARRIORS

The Varsity Blues field hockey team notched their seventh straight victory with a 7-0 win over the Waterloo Warriors on Sunday, September 29 in Guelph, Ont.

The Blues sit atop the OUA standings with a 7-0-0 record, and leads the OUA with 25 goals scored and only two against.

Fourth-year midfielder Tegan Stairs and sophomore standout Alison Lee each scored two goals and Toronto notched five goals in the first 14 minutes of action in the victory.

Veteran forward Justine Branco opened the scoring in the first minute of action, and Stairs added her first of the game in the sixth minute. Lee scored on a penalty stroke in the 11th minute and Stairs notched her second one minute later. Third-year forward Gabriella Permell scored her first goal of the season in the 14th minute off a corner opportunity.

Lee scored her second of the game in the 35th minute, and rookie Taylor Fleck added one just after halftime to round out the win.
 
The Varsity Blues return to action next Saturday, October 5 as they head to Kingston, Ont., for a game versus the McGill Martlets. Game time is set for 12:30 p.m.
