The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's and women's soccer teams have reached the midway point of their seasons, and continue a series of games on the road, starting with the Trent Excalibur on Wednesday night (Sept. 25) in Peterborough, Ont.
The Toronto women jumped their way into second place in the OUA East division, after taking down the No. 2 Queen's Gaels, 2-1, on Sunday. The win takes the blues to 5-2-1 on the season.  U of T has notched five shut outs and scored a total of 11 goals in the past six games.
Fourth-year striker and co-captain, Aisha Lewis of Mississauga, Ont., leads the Blues in scoring and sits seventh on the OUA leader board with four goals.
The Toronto men dropped to 1-3-1 on the season after a 3-1 loss against the Gaels on Sunday. The Blues are looking to make a comeback after a tough start, with two games postponed due to weather. Â
The Blues last captured the OUA title in 2010 and have made the OUA playoffs every year since 1986.
The University of Toronto is the proud host of the 2013 CIS women's soccer championship, November 7-10, at Varsity Centre.
