The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's and women's track and field teams travelled to Ithaca, New York for the Greg Paige Relays on Saturday, December 7.
The Blues women's relay teams each earned first-place finishes on the day. Honor Walmsley, Maddy Kelly, Shannon Kennedy and Claire Sumner placed first in the distance medley with a time of 12:16.13, while Danielle Delage, Carolyn Adams, Florence Peters and Maddie Buttinger were golden in the 4x400 relay in 3:57.22.
Walmsley also placed first in the women's 600m in a time of 1:34.91, while Kelly was fourth in 1:36.38.
Colleen and Kelly Hennessey finished second and third in the women's 3000m in 9:54.04 and 10:03.32, respectively.
Delage led Toronto's women in the field with a first-place finish in the high jump competition (1.73m). Ekua Cudjoe placed second in the shot put (12.21m) and fourth in weight throw (13.73m), while Julie Stille was third in both the long (5.46m) and triple jump (11.90m) events.
In men's action, Alex Denault and Jake Woloshyn placed 1-2 in the 3000m with times of 8:39.41 and 8:42.65, while Marc McGuire was third in triple jump (13.94) and Darnell Girard finished fourth in the shot put event (13.85m).
