Box Score The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball team notched their second straight win in a 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-13) victory over the Lakehead Thunderwolves on Sunday afternoon (Nov. 3) at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym.
With the win, the Blues improve to 3-2 and move into a tie for third place in the OUA East division, while Lakehead drops to 2-2 and are also tied for third in the West.
Fourth-year outside hitter Jennifer Neilson of Port Coquitlam, B.C., once again led the Blues with a game-high 12 kills and three blocks. Fellow veteran Charlotte Sider (Ottawa) added six kills and six digs, while Kate Lonergan led all players with 15 digs in the win.
Lakehead was led by Jorie Daymond's five kills, while Brittany MacLeod had two kills and three aces in the loss.
The Varsity Blues return to the court next Friday, November 8 as they travel to Waterloo to take on the Warriors. Game time is set for 8 p.m.
