The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's volleyball team dropped a five set contest versus the UQAM Citadins on Saturday (Sept. 19) night in Montreal to begin their 2026-27 preseason schedule.

Set scores in the match were 19-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-17, 10-15.

16 different Varsity Blues took to the court in the five set exhibition match. Third-year outside hitter Julia Liu led the way for Toronto with a game-high 18 points from 15 kills, one service ace and two solo blocks. Fourth-year outside hitter Giulia Chimilovski added another nine kills and three service aces, while first-year outside hitter Agata Colombo notched nine kills and two service aces to round out Blues in double-digits. Second-year setter Marina Gustke guided Toronto's attack with 25 digs. Defensively, Colombo and Chimilovski notched nine and eight digs, respectively.

Jade Genereux finished with a team-high 15.5 points for the Citadins recording 12 kills, two aces, one solo block and one block assist. Anna Dubuc-Ventura tallied 21 assists, while Genereux, Dubuc-Ventura, and Penelope Baril all had eight digs each.

The Varsity Blues will continue their preseason on the road next heading to Fredricton, New Brunswick for the Philson Classic. Toronto will face off against Moncton, Brock, and Dalhousie during the Maritime tournament scheduled for Sept. 25-26.
