The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's basketball team fell 70-49 to the CIS defending champion Windsor Lancers on Saturday, November 16 at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym.

With the loss, the Blues drop to 0-5 to start the season, while the Lancers improve to 5-1 in the West division.

Fourth-year guard Rachael Sider of New Westminster, B.C., led the Blues with 13 points, while adding five boards and two steals. Rookie guard and Scarborough native Rashida Atkinson added 10 points, while Jill Stratton (Etobicoke) had nine points and three boards in the loss.

Fifth-year forward Jessica Clemencon of St. Rambert, France led all players with 21 points, while both Korissa Williams and Jocelyn LaRocque had 13 in the victory.

The Varsity Blues return to action next Friday, November 22 as they head to Thunder Bay, Ont., to take on the Lakehead Thunderwolves. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
