The University of Toronto Varsity Blues women's rugby team ended their 2013-14 campaign with a 22-10 loss to Trent on Saturday, October 5 at Varsity Centre.
The Blues end the season just shy of the playoffs, with a 0-5-0 record in fifth place in the OUA Russell division.
U of T started the game strong, stopping many Trent runs close to the end zone. The Excalibur finally broke through when Brianna Bader snuck in for a try in the 17th minute. Karlie Robinson extended Trent's lead in the 29th minute, but Toronto bounce back with a try from Olivia Roberge three minutes later.
The Excalibur led 10-5 at the half.
The two teams went back and forth to start the second half, until Trent widened the gap with a try from Alannah Bailey and conversion kick from Karlie Robinson.
U of T's Katrina Cohen-Palacios brought the game within seven in the 63rd minute; however, Trent's Sarah Guttin scored in the last minute of the game to secure the win.Â
