The Varsity Blues men's water polo team hosted the Penn State University Nittany Lions on Friday night (Oct. 4) at the Athletic Centre and came away with a convincing 18-11 win.

The Blues jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and lengthened it to a 10 goal lead by the end of the third quarter (14-4).

Coach Vlad Tasevski got to use his entire 20-man roster, including three goalies.

"Overall, the team played with heart and conviction," said Tasevski. "Our team shooting through the first three quarters was on target and effective. I felt the first unit dominated both ends of the pool."

Alan Chung, Marko Brasic and Tuna Tali each led the Blues with three goals, while Gorast Tasevski, Luke Spooner and Matt Hart tallied two apiece. Single markers were counted by Tanner Regan, Paul Spooner and captain Mike Chapman.

The two teams met again on Saturday night, with the Blues coming out on top, 14-9.
