STAIRS SISTERS LEAD BLUES IN DOMINANT WIN

Emma and Tegan Stairs combined for five goals as the University of Toronto Varsity Blues field hockey team defeated the McGill Martlets 10-0 on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 5) in Kingston, Ont.

With the win, the Blues improve to 8-0-0 and sit atop the OUA standings with four games remaining in the regular season.

A second-year forward, Emma Stairs (Kitchener, Ont.) notched three goals, while Tegan Stairs had two goals on the day. Blues leading scorer Ally Evanyshyn of Burlington, Ont., added two to her league-high 12 goals, while Anna McNeil, Alex Thicke and Alison Lee had single tallies in the win.

The Varsity Blues have a big day ahead of them as they take on the Guelph Gryphons and Western Mustangs on Sunday in Kingston.
