BLUES TIE RAVENS, FACE VOYAGEURS IN OUA PLAYOFF

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team wrapped up their 2013 regular season campaign with a 2-2 tie against the Carleton Ravens on Sunday afternoon in Ottawa.

The Blues end the regular season tied with Laurentian for fourth place with identical 5-4-5 records; however, Laurentian wins the tiebreaker and will host the Blues this Wednesday, October 23 in Sudbury, Ont., at 2 p.m.

Team co-captain Mario Kovacevic opened the scoring in the 11th minute on a penalty kick, but the Ravens responded as Mekonen Lovemore-White found the back of the net in the 36th minute. Blues rookie Nirunthan Sivananthan got the go-ahead goal three minutes later and Toronto held a 2-1 lead at half.

Despite outshooting the Ravens 14-9, Toronto couldn't find the back of the net again and Carleton's Julian Piccioli spoiled the win with a goal off a free kick in the 87th minute.

Blues goalkeeper Rab Bruce-Lockhart made three saves in the tie.
