The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's soccer team tied the Trent Excalibur 2-2 on Wednesday, October 2 at Varsity Centre.
With the tie, the Blues drop to 1-4-3 and remain in sixth place, while the Excalibur are 1-7-2 and in seventh in the OUA East division.
Team co-captain Mario Kovacevic helped the Blues play catch up twice in the match. The Excalibur opened the scoring in the 32nd minute and Kovacevic (Woodbridge, Ont.) evened the score eight minutes later on a penalty kick. The game was deadlocked at 1-1 at the half.
Trent went ahead again in the 61st minute, but Kovacevic notched his second of the game, and fourth of the season in the 74th minute en route to Toronto's third draw of 2013.
The Varsity Blues return to action this Saturday, October 5 as they travel to North Bay, Ont., to take on the Nipissing Lakers. Game time is set for 2:15 p.m.
