The Varsity Blues men’s basketball team went 3-0 to win the 2012 Laval Tournament, October 19-21, at Universite Laval.
The Blues defeated the UNB Varsity Reds, 82-66, on Friday afternoon, before downing the host Rouge et Or 68-55 on Saturday night. Toronto capped off the tournament with a dominant 67-45 victory over the UPEI Panthers on Sunday morning.
Fifth-year forward Ben Garvin was named the tournament’s most valuable player. The Holland Landing, Ont., native led the Blues with 51 points and 23 boards over three games. Veteran guard Arun Kumar (Hamilton, Ont.) was also named a tournament all-star.
