The Varsity Blues field hockey team defeated the McGill Martlets 5-0 on Saturday, October 13 at Downsview Field.
 
With the win, the Blues improve to 8-0 and remain atop the OUA standings.
 
Veteran defender Kelley Lusk opened the scoring in the 25^th minute as the Blues carried a 1-0 lead into halftime.
 
Third-year forward Alex Thicke extended Toronto’s lead in the 42^nd minute and fellow North Vancouver, B.C., native Lauren Mansfield put the Blues up by three in the 46^th minute.
 
Lusk and Ally Evanyshyn rounded out the scoring in the 55^th and 57^th minute, respectively.
 
The Varsity Blues return to the field tomorrow as they take on the Queen’s Gaels at 10:45 a.m. at Downsview Park.
