BLUES FALL TO A-GAME HOOPS

The Varsity Blues men’s basketball team dropped a 99-83 decision to A-Game Hoops in an exhibition match-up on Friday, October 12 at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym.
 
Fifth-year guard Arun Kumar (Hamilton, Ont.) led the Blues with 21 points, while both Alex Hill (Toronto) and Dakota Laurin (Calgary) had 15. Holland Landing, Ont., native Ben Garvin tallied 13 points and eight boards in the loss.
 
A-Game got out to an early 27-12 lead after the first quarter, with the Blues narrowing the halftime gap to 10 (49-39). A-Game maintained a comfortable lead throughout the second half to cruise to the 16-point victory.
 
A-Game was led by Brad Smith’s game-high 24 points and 10 boards. Igor leebob had 18 points and Jay Mott recorded 17 in the win.
 
The Varsity Blues return to the court this Sunday, October 14 as they host the Shippensburg Raiders at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym. Tip off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
