BLUES BLOW PAST T-WOLVES

The Varsity Blues women’s volleyball team shut out the Lakehead Thunderwolves 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-13) on Saturday night (Oct. 29) at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym.

With the win, the Blues improve to 3-0 and remain in first place in the OUA East division.

Sophomore leftside hitter Rebecca Crosier led all players with 13 kills and 11 digs and was named the Blues player of the game.  Fellow second-year standout and Ottawa native Charlotte Sider had another solid game with 12 kills and eight digs, while Alexandra Hudson added 11 kills and nine digs in the win.

Third-year setter Malena Rapaport had 34 assists and nine digs on the night.

The Varsity Blues also honoured the 1989 OWIAA championship team in a special ceremony between the second and third sets. 

The Blues return to the court next Saturday, November 5 as they host the Waterloo Warriors at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym.  Game time is set for 6 p.m.
