BLUES IMPROVE TO 8-0 WITH WIN OVER MARTLETS

Four different players scored as the CIS defending champion Varsity Blues field hockey team defeated the McGill Martlets 4-0 on Sunday, October 2 in Kingston, Ont.

With the win, the Blues extend their win streak to eight and remain atop the OUA standings.

Blues goalie Katherine Williams played a phenomenal game and, with the help of a stellar defensive effort from veteran Kelley Lusk, earned her sixth shut out of the season.

Rookies Rachel Fackoury (Maryhill, Ont.) and Amanda Woodcroft of Oakville, Ont., as well as Lauren Mansfield and Ally Evanyshyn each scored in the win.

The Varsity Blues return to the field next Friday, October 7 as they travel to London, Ont., to take on the Waterloo Warriors. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
