WEBER COMMITS TO VARSITY BLUES MEN’S LACROSSE

The Varsity Blues men’s lacrosse program is pleased to announce that Tyler Weber has made known his commitment to play lacrosse and pursue an education at the University of Toronto in the fall of 2011.

A Toronto native, Weber has been the leading scorer on the Etobicoke Collegiate Rams for the past three seasons.

“Tyler is a proven scorer,” said Varsity Blues head coach Joe Nizich. “He will add versatility to our roster this season with his ability to play both middie and attack and I’m looking forward to seeing him in the Blue and White.”

The 6-foot-1 attacker was a 2010 athlete of the year nominee and graduated with honours from Lakeshore Collegiate. He has accepted his offer of admission to study social sciences at the University of Toronto Mississauga Campus in the fall.

As a member of his club team, the Mimico Mountaineers, Weber earned a silver medal at the 2010 Founders Cup.

Students who sign a letter of intent and commit to Varsity Blues intercollegiate teams will be eligible to play at the University of Toronto provided they are academically admissible and have applied through the normal process with the Ontario Universities Application Centre.
