BLUES FALL TO LAKERS IN CUFLA PLAYOFFS

The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men's lacrosse team fell 19-8 to the Nipissing Lakers in the CUFLA playoffs on Thursday (Oct. 30) night in North Bay, Ont.

A strong first half performance from Nipissing saw the Blues head into halftime trailing 14-5. Fifth-year attack Scott Del Zotto notched a pair of goals in the first half for U of T. Meanwhile, second-year midfielder Alexander May, fourth-year midfielder Justin Ranger and first-year attack Alex Farrington all got on the scoreboard for the Blue and White in the first half.

The second half began with strong defensive performances from both sides as the Blues looked to get back in the game as third-year midfielder Jonathan Murawsky found the back of the net. In the fourth quarter U of T pushed hard until the final horn as Ranger notched his second goal of the night and third-year attack Daniel Clarke got in on the offence.

Benjamin Rishikof and Harrison Sillaby faced a combined 30 shots in the game.

The Blues finish the 2025 season with a 5-5 conference record and will look to regroup ahead of the 2026 campaign.
