The Varsity Blues men’s lacrosse program is pleased to announce that Ben Hayes has made known his commitment to play lacrosse for the Varsity Blues and pursue an education at the University of Toronto in the fall of 2010.
A Mississauga, Ont., native, Hayes was named the Lorne Park Secondary School’s most valuable player in 2010.
“Ben is a dedicated athlete who should contribute immediately to our offence from the midfield position,” said Varsity Blues head coach Joe Nizich. “The program at Lorne Park and his experience playing junior box lacrosse have prepared him well for playing at the university level.”
Hayes, who will graduate from Lorne Park with honours this spring, will pursue a degree in psychology starting in September.
Students who sign a letter of intent and commit to Varsity Blues intercollegiate teams will be eligible to play at the University of Toronto provided they are academically admissible and have applied through the normal process with the Ontario Universities Application Centre.
