Former University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s lacrosse player Angus Dineley has been selected as a member of the Canadian national team that looks to defend their title at the world field lacrosse championship in Manchester, England, in July 2010.
Dineley (Toronto) was one of 55 athletes invited to a four-day selection camp in October 2009 at St. Michael’s College. The Blues top goaltender in 2008, Dineley recorded a 9.53 GAA, while pursuing his Master’s degree at U of T. Before his career with Toronto, he played for the Canisius College Griffs and was named a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) all-academic team from 2004-07 and an all-American in 2007.
Dineley currently plays for Norwood Nitro in the senior lacrosse league.
Thirty nations are set to compete at the 2010 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) world lacrosse championships, July 15-24, at the Manchester University Sports grounds.
