MEN’S LACROSSE ALUMNI SET FOR TEAM CANADA TRYOUTS

University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s lacrosse alumni Steve Hoar and Angus Dineley have been invited to the 2010 Team Canada selection camp, October 9-12, at St. Michael’s College in Toronto.

Hoar and Dineley were two of 55 athletes invited to the four-day selection camp that will ultimately determine the team that will represent Canada at the 2010 Federation of International Lacrosse's world championship.

Hoar, a 6-foot-2 defenceman who currently plays for the Toronto Rock in the National Lacrosse League (NLL), played two seasons (2003-05) for the Blues. During that time, Hoar was named the 2004 Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) player of that year.

The Blues top goaltender last season, Dineley recorded a 9.53 GAA. Before his career with U of T, he played for the Canisius College Griffs and was named a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference all-academic team from 2004-07 and an all-American in 2007. Dineley currently plays for Norwood Nitro in the senior lacrosse league.
