The University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s water polo team defeated the Carleton Ravens 17-3 on Sunday, November 15 at the Carleton University campus.
Luke Spooner (Aukland, Nz.), who was named Team Ontario’s most valuable player in 2009, and economics major Tuna Tali (Istanbul, Tur.) were instrumental in the victory, each scoring three goals.
Graeme Myers (Toronto, Ont.) and Thomas Zochowski (Toronto, Ont.) were also fierce offenders with two goals apiece.
Samuel Cardarelli (Rockland, Ont.), Boris Misljencevic (Ottawa, Ont.) and Jean-Francois Jaques (Ottawa, Ont.) each managed to sneak one past the Blues.
Ultimately Toronto managed to work past Carleton’s defence as Cargi Ihan (Istanbul, Tur.), Milos Radojcic (Belgrade,Srb.) and Carston Ruffo (Fleetwood, Ont.) each added single tallies as U of T took the game 17-3.
The Varsity Blues men’s water polo return to the pool Nov. 28-29 as they head to Hamilton, Ont. for the 2009 OUA championship hosted by the McMaster Marauders.
