Barrie, Ont. - The University of Toronto mountain bike team travelled to Hardwood Hills in Barrie this past Sunday to compete in the second race of the 2008 University Cup mountain bike race series.

Toronto racer Chris McKnight powered his way through 42 races to claim the gold medal in the men's sport division.

After winning the gold medal in the women’s sport division last week, first-year Jessica Moffet moved up to the expert division this week and earned a very impressive fifth-place finish.

Other impressive performances were turned in by Jessica Davenport and Bret Waghorne, who each placed in the top ten of their respective races.

The Varsity Blues will travel to Port Hope this Sunday, September 27 to compete in the third University Cup race of the season.
