BLUES FIGURE SKATING 2007-08 YEAR IN REVIEW

Varsity Blues figure skating capped off a year of hard work with competitions at McGill and Western and placed seventh at the OUA championship at Guelph. The team had many personal bests at the OUA Championships, including co-captain Signe Ronka who continued her dominance in the short program, placing first and earning a third-place finish in the intermediate solo dance. Signe and rookie Veronica Hall captured the silver medal in the senior similar pairs event with a flawless performance.

Almost all skaters peaked at the perfect time in the season, with personal best performances by Hall in the gold ladies event, as well as Kayla Castonguay, Craig Ruttan, Janice Stacey, and the dance team of Sarah Tassis and Stephanie Salvatore. The skaters continued to push themselves in the Synchronized Skating event with a great performance that earned them a fourth place finish.
