After suffering their first defeat to Ryerson in seven years, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues women’s basketball team came back in a big way to take game two of the home-and-home 74-40 on Saturday, November 1 at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym.
After falling 72-65 on Friday, Toronto dominated the entire game on Saturday, holding an impressive 41-13 lead at halftime, before coming away with a convincing 74-40 win.
First-year transfer student and Blues player of the game Nicki Shutz (Toronto, Ont.) led all players with 17 points. Fourth-year veteran Alaine Hutton (Hamilton, Ont.) had 14 points six steals while Tara Kinnear (Kemptville, Ont.) added 11 points.
Lisa Goldring (Burlington, Ont.) led the Rams with 13 points.
The Varsity Blues host the McMaster Marauders on Friday, November 7 and the Lakehead Thunderwolves on Saturday, November 8 at the Athletic Centre Sports Gym. Game time on both day is set for 6 p.m.
