The University of Toronto Varsity Blues field hockey team remains undefeated in OUA action after coming away with three big wins on the road this weekend (Oct. 4-5).
The Blues overpowered the Carleton Ravens 5-0 and edged the Western Mustangs 2-1 on Saturday before recording a 2-0 victory over the Waterloo Warriors on Sunday morning at Ravens Field in Ottawa.
Fifth-year defender Kristen Shier (North Vancouver, B.C.) led the Blues with three goals and one assist, while 2007 CIS player of the year Cailie O’Hara (Oakville, Ont.) and Mississagua native Kyesia O’Neale notched two goals apiece over the course of the weekend. Briar Rodgers (St. Catharines, Ont.) and Shannon Treacy (Burlington, Ont.) added singles in the Toronto victories.
The undefeated Varsity Blues sit atop the OUA with an 8-0-1 record. The squad returns home on Friday, October 10 to host the Guelph Gryphons at Varsity Centre. Game time is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
