Three-time CIS cross country champion Megan Brown had another dominating performance and captured two gold medals at uOttawa’s Winter National Invitational on Feb. 13.
 
Twice named U of T’s female athlete of the year, Brown had no trouble winning the women’s 1500m, finishing a full 13 seconds ahead of second-place Leah Laroque of Queen’s University in a time of 4:24.20.
 
A native of Guelph, Ont., Brown crossed the finish line in 2:47.69, 2.5 seconds ahead of Gee-Gees Julia Malleck, to earn her second gold medal of the meet in the women’s 1000m.
 
With her performance this weekend, the faculty of physical education and health student is now ranked first in the CIS in both the 1000m and 1500m in accordance with Sporting Canada’s daily comprehensive rankings. 

Honourable mention: Nicki Schutz - scored 45 points and had 25 rebounds to lead the Varsity Blues women's basketball team to two victories this weekend.
