Third-year guard Iñaki Alvarez amassed 52 points as the University of Toronto Varsity Blues men’s basketball team went 1-1 on the road this past weekend.
 
The native of Altafulla, Spain put up a career-high 40 points, while adding three boards, one assist and one steal in a narrow 96-95 loss to the No. 3 nationally-ranked Queen’s Gaels on Saturday. Alvarez went 14-for-22, including 6-for-8 from beyond the arc on the night.
 
Alvarez also notched 12 points, six rebounds, eight assists and three steals in U of T’s 90-81 victory over the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks on Friday night. The Blues head into the December break atop the OUA central division with an 8-2 record.
