Nicki Schutz knocked down 24 points and hauled in an impressive 28 boards as the Varsity Blues women’s basketball team went 2-0 this weekend, defeating the Laurier Golden Hawks and Waterloo Warriors.

The fourth-year faculty of physical education and health student tallied 10 points and eight boards in Toronto’s 66-55 victory over the Golden Hawks on Friday night, seven of those coming in a critical fourth quarter as the Blues came from behind to earn the 11-point victory.

A Toronto native, Schutz went on to record a game-high 14 points and was a monster on the glass, collecting 20 boards as the Blues defeated the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday.
