Third-year forward Russell Turner notched four points as the Varsity Blues men’s hockey team opened their 2015-16 regular season at home this past weekend (Oct. 9-10).


Turner scored two goals and added one assist as the Blues defeated the Concordia Stingers, 6-2, on Saturday night. The Jasper, Alta, native got the Blues on the board midway through the first period with a one-time shot from the high slot on the powerplay.

He then won an offensive zone face off to set up a one-timer from linemate Patrick Marsh to even the score early in the second period. Turner capped off the night with beautiful goal on a 2-on-1 in the third period. The biodiversity and conservation biology major also added one assist in Toronto’s home opener vs UQTR on Friday.
