Fourth-year midfielder Amanda Woodcroft was named the CIS-FHC field hockey championship tournament MVP in leading the University of Toronto Varsity Blues to the national silver medal this week (Oct. 30-Nov. 2) at Back Campus Fields.

Woodcroft scored one goal in Toronto’s 3-0 preliminary round victory over the eventual champion UBC Thunderbirds. The Waterloo, Ont., native, who was recognized as the 2014 CIS player of the year at the awards banquet on Wednesday night, was also named a member of the tournament XI all-star team for her stellar play over the four-day championship.

A concurrent education student in the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education, Woodcroft helped Toronto to a mere one goal against in three round robin wins.
