Fifth-year forward Dan Brewer scored three goals, including two game-winners, and added one assist in leading the Varsity Blues men’s hockey team to a four-point weekend.
The Cambridge, Ont., native notched two goals and one assist in Toronto’s 4-3 win over RMC on Friday night. Brewer scored U of T’s first goal and assisted the second as the Blues built a 2-1 lead after the first period. He then added the eventual game-winner with a booming shot from the point midway through the third period.
A fifth-year geography major, Brewer went on to tally the lone goal of the game in a 1-0 shut out win over the Queen’s Gaels on Saturday. With Gaels defender Stephane Chabot in the penalty box on a double-minor for spearing early in the first period, Brewer deflected home a point shot for his fourth point of the weekend.
The two wins lift Toronto from sixth place into a tie for fourth in the OUA East division.
