Making sure the No. 3 U of T Varsity Blues men's swimming team continued their dominance of the OUA over the weekend, Gallant took home multiple gold medals, as well as an OUA record.

Swimming in the 200m and 400m individual medley, along with the 200m breaststroke, the product of Fredericton, N.B., won gold in all three events. His time of 4:13.74 in the 400 IM broke the previous OUA record of 4:16.12 by nearly two and a half seconds. The first-year international relations major also earned a silver medal as a member of the 800 freestyle relay team.

For his accomplishments over the three days, Gallant was named the OUA rookie of the year, as well as OUA swimmer of the year, while also receiving the Jeno Tihanyi award for individual medley excellence.
