Garrett Sheehan made 38 saves and stopped a third-period penalty shot in leading the Varsity Blues men’s hockey team to a 3-2 win over the UOIT Ridgebacks on Friday night (Dec. 2).
 
The Cremona, Alta., native posted 15 saves in both the first and second periods as Toronto carried a 3-1 lead into the final frame. Sheehan then stopped UOIT’s Brendan Wise as he deked to the stick side on a penalty shot midway through the third period.
 
The second-year arts & science major made eight more saves to round out the win and heads into the December break with a 0.906 save percentage.
