Third-year Varsity Blues runner Tamara Jewett earned the individual silver medal at the 2011 CIS cross country championships on Saturday, November 12 hosted by Laval.

Jewett crossed the finish line in 18:07.9, 7.5 seconds behind Guelph’s Genevieve Lalonde and 6.3 seconds ahead of bronze medalist Ellen Pennock of Victoria.

The Toronto was named a CIS first team all-Canadian for the third time in as many appearances at the national championships.

Honourable Mention: Vanessa Treasure (swimming) – four gold medals at the 2011 Tihanyi division championships and three gold medals in dual-meet action over Ottawa.
