Second-year striker Mario Kovacevic recorded his first career hat trick in leading the No. 9 Varsity Blues men’s soccer team to a 4-0 win over the Ryerson Rams on Sunday afternoon at Varsity Centre.
 
Kovacevic tallied the contest's first goal in the 20th minute, heading the ball past Aaryon Gaeeni to put the Blues up 1-0. The Woodbridge, Ont., native put Toronto up by three in the 60th minute, sliding the ball under the Ryerson goalkeeper and solidified the hat trick performance six minutes later.
 
A fourth-year engineering major, Kovacevic helped to lift Toronto into second place in the OUA standings with a game in hand over the Rams.  He is now tied for fifth in OUA scoring with nine goals in as many games.
